MSL Update on the Curiosity Rover
On November 21, 2014 the Foundation for Nuclear Studies hosted its fourth annual briefing featuring Dr. Stephen Johnson, Director for Space Nuclear Systems & Tech, Idaho National Laboratory and Dr. Pamela Conrad, Sample Analysis at Mars Investigation, Mars Science Laboratory, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. Dr. Johnson covered aspects behind the development of MMRTGs used for space exploration, and then highlighted the New Horizon’s nine year journey to Pluto. Dr. Conrad followed Dr. Johnson’s presentation with an update of the Curiosity Rover’s journey through Gale Crater, Mars.
